Position Title:  Production Manager

Experience:      Minimum of 10 years experience in starting and scaling a high-tech manufacturing operation.

Hands-on role with direct involvement in all aspects of building a scalable manufacturing operation. The position encompasses; workflow optimization, creating build plans, materials management, inventory turn management, workforce and manpower management, production capacity planning, and EH&S management. Works cross-functionally with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering to achieve process yield targets and product COGS targets.

Responsibilities
  • Hire, staff, and train the production workforce
  • Optimize workflow to meet production requirements
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of the production team
  • Develop a capacity planning model in line with corporate shipment plans. Inclusive of process cycle times, labor times, efficiency factors, and yield loss
  • Material, inventory, and scrap management and tracking
  • Working with the site safety committee to ensure proper facilities controls are in place and employees are trained properly to perform their jobs in a safe manner
  • Ensure continuous improvement plans are in place for employees and processes
  • Accountable for the overall process cumulative yields and works collaboratively with manufacturing, development, and data analytics engineering on tracking, analyzing, and resolving issues
  • Participates as needed in NPI development projects
  • Is the responsible production representative reviewing and approving ECOs as needed
  • Initiates and plans cost reduction activities in support of product COGS objectives.

Qualifications:

  • BA, BS, MS with a minimum of 10 years experience in starting and scaling a high-tech manufacturing operation.
  • Strong supervisory skills in a clean-room manufacturing environment
  • Experience with screen printing, film-based materials, and associated processes.
  • Demonstrated history of developing capacity planning models via Excel and/or ERP systems
  • Working understanding of product cost roll-up models, separating total product costs down into constituent parts, and isolating cost drivers for analysis and reduction.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing employee health and safety controls
  • Demonstrated history of managing an equipment preventive maintenance program
  • Ability to think logically and methodically with excellent detail problem-solving skills.
  • Lead and participate in meetings to address process development and improvement efforts.
  • Excellent Data analysis, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven team player.
